oa Journal of the Entomological Society of Southern Africa - Dytiscidae (Coleoptera) collected In the Transvaal

In 1948, my husband and I, aided by a grant from Rhodes University spent four months in the Transvaal, S. Rhodesia and Nyasaland continuing our studies of the fresh-waters of Africa. We were particularly anxious to study the aquatic fauna of the Transvaal before its oecology had been irrevocably upset by the activities of the anti-malarial squads who, we had heard, were rapidly covering the Northern part of that province with, from our point of view, an unfortunate efficiency. This paper is an account of the Dytiscidae collected by us in the Transvaal on that journey.
