oa Journal of the Entomological Society of Southern Africa - Notes on species

Abstract

I attribute all the specimens of Hydrocoptus in this collection from the Transvaal, as well as a series from Storm's River in the Cape Province and some from Mtuba-tuba in Zululand, to this species although at first sight I believed them to fall into two species both different from H. koppi Weh. Mr. Balfour-Browne to whom I submitted the specimens attributed the series from Ermelo to H. koppi Weh. and the Nelspruit and Zululand specimens to a new species. On further examination however, I can see no justification for their separation into distinct species.
