The morphology of the larva and nymph of Amblyomma hebraeum has been descriptionbed in detail using the scanning electron microscope and as far as possible this has been illustrated with relevant micrographs. The technique of the scanning electron microscope has also made possible a revision of the setal arrangement on the palps of the larva and nymph of of Amblyomma hebraeum, in the larvae of other species of this genus and in larval representatives of the genera Boophilus, Hyalomma, Rhipicephalus and Haemaphysalis. Detailed consideration has been given to the structure of Haller's organ in the larvae of these ticks, as well as a comparison between larvae and nymphs of the bont tick.
