oa Journal of the Entomological Society of Southern Africa - A preliminary study on the emergence of Mansonia uniformis (Diptera: Culicidae) from swamps at Richards Bay, Natal, South Africa

Abstract

A serious problem caused by nuisance-value mosquitoes has existed at Richards Bay for many years. This was attributed to Mansonia uniformis breeding in the extensive swamps associated with the Mhlatuze delta and Lake Msingazi. This programme confirmed that M. uniformis was the principal biter, and bred in swamps.
