Samples of Culicoides midges were caught each month for I I months at the veterinary research farm near Harare. The insects were most abundant in the wet season and the spring. Akabane, Nyabira, African horsesickness, blue tong and Ephemeral fever viruses were isolated from various Culicoides midges.
