Cleveland Clinic study shows all-cause mortality benefits of aspirin An evaluation of 6 147 consecutive adults undergoing stress echocardiography at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation was carried out between 1990 and 1998. This has shown that those taking aspirin (37%) benefited with a 30-50% drop in all-cause mortality when compared firstly, in a multivariate analysis of cardiovascular risk and secondly, using propensity analysis (50% drop) in which 1 351 patients were paired so that the propensity to take aspirin was equal among both aspirin and nonaspirin users. 1 Using the paired propensity group of aspirin and non-aspirin users, ..
