Extracted from text ... The natural tendency when dogma is challenged is to become sceptical and resistant to change. Such appears to be the case with HRT today. I agree with Cheifitz that the effects of HRT on the heart remain far from being resolved, and clearly stated this in my recent editorial in the Cardiovasc J South Afr.1 However, some conclusions can and should be drawn from the available data.
