Extracted from text ... 98 The long-acting ACE inhibitor perindopril (Coversyl(r)) appears to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death and heart attacks in diabetic patients with stable coronary disease already receiving standard preventive therapy. This is according to results from the PERSUADE1 (PERindopril SUb study in coronary Artery disease and Diab- Etics), a sub-study of the EUROPA study, announced recently at the American College of Cardiology (ACC) annual congress.
