It was designed to access the effect of nifedipine GITS on clinical outcome in patients with stable angina irrespective of blood pressure level at baseline. In clinical practice, coronary artery disease and hypertension often occur concurrently. In ACTION, 52% of the 8 000 patients had baseline blood pressures =?140/90 mmHg.
