Improvement in small artery function in type 2 diabetes following candesartan cilexitil treatment A recent trial of angiotensin II receptor blockade on vessel function, measured by pressure myography, has shown that even brief treatment (12 weeks) with candesartan cilexitil (Atacand) is associated with a significant improvement in resistance vessel endothelial function.1 This randomised, double-blind, placebo- controlled, parallel study was performed in 32 patients with type 2 diabetes, with and without hypertension.
