Centre for Petroleum, Energy Economics & Law (CPEEL)

The Centre for Petroleum, Energy Economics and Law, University of Ibadan, is a John D and Catherine T MacArthur Foundation-funded Centre of Excellence with the main goal of training highly skilled personnel and conducting research on energy.

CPEEL aims to provide a world-class milieu in which advanced energy research, training and advocacy are undertaken and anchored on combining the best local, regional and global expertise in energy. One of the main objectives of the Centre is to develop the human capacity needed to formulate and implement energy policies and regulations to manage effectively the natural resources of Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) and to provide a platform for energy professionals, institutions and the general public to meet to better inform public policy on energy.
