The subject of medical experimentation on human beings presents a challenge to the jurist who deals with health law. It is also a challenging topic for a paper for a world meeting on medical law. The reason for this is that the legal norms and in particular the penal norms with which medical action must comply are, as a rule, not comprehensive, so that it is necessary to proceed from the general principles of law to determine which experiments are allowed by the law and where the boundaries of such authorization lie.
