The purpose of traffic assignment is explained, and the underlying theory briefly discussed. The basic input data is descriptionbed, the need for a reasonably large number of zones being stressed. Additional coding for prohibited turns is also mentioned. Computer requirements are listed, the calculating process is broadly descriptionbed, and the approximate computing time is given. Other assignment methods are briefly mentioned. The results appear to be reasonable, and have proved useful.
