Testing to destruction of Vinoan composite profile metal deck panels was implemented to establish a proposed design method for this class of floor, incorporating its particular profile, shear connectors and etch priming specifications, and involving the deck as main reinforcement. Based on the modes of failure and stress resultants at critical sections a method of design is put forward involving a shearmoment interaction technique and the critical stresses of concrete modulus of rupture and average bond value. Recommendations on local detailing are included.
