The Maluti Regional Water Supply Scheme serves Maluti Township and the Maluti Garrison, which have a total population of approximately 6 000. The original water supply scheme comprised the Belfort Dam, a 150 mm diameter raw water pipeline between Belfort Dam and the Maluti water treatment works, the treatment works themselves, a 150 mm diameter purified water pipeline to Maluti Township, a 150 mm diameter branch line to the military garrison, and various reservoirs (80 m3 at the treatment works, 30 m3, 80 m3 and 500 m3 at Maluti Township, and 80 m3 and 1 000 m3 at the garrison) .
