Not only was this a technically challenging project, but it also captured the imagination of the public with the bridge being rotated into position after it was built alongside the freeway The Concorde East Overpass Bridge, formerly known as the Harper Street Bridge, spans the N 12 freeway between the Gillooly and Airport interchanges in Bedfordview. It is a cable-stayed bridge, 50 m long and 17 m wide, carrying three lanes of traffic and two sidewalks. The project also won the Witwatersrand Branch Award for Excellence in Civil Engineering.
