Three emerging contractors acquired valuable training in contractual skills on road-related works in KaNgwane, and although timeous execution was a problem, workmanship was excellent BKS Inc was appointed by the then Department of Public Works in KaNgwane to investigate defects in roads and stormwater drainage for surfaced streets and to prepare contract documents for the upgrading of stormwater drainage and roads-related works by labour-enhanced methods in various towns and districts of KaNgwane. In managing these contracts, they were also required to train emerging contractors in tender procedures and basic construction methods. This community-based project was nominated for SAICE's National Award last year.
