oa Civil Engineering = Siviele Ingenieurswese - Loading tests on the floor systems of a reinforced concrete building

Abstract

The paper briefly summarizes the results of loading tests on the floor systems of a reinforced concrete building of normal construction which had been in service for about 10 years. Within the range of working loads the observed deflexions and strains were almost always less than those corresponding to the usual design assumptions. The failing loads exceeded those given by both elastic and plastic theories, but were in closer agreement with the latter.
