Three ambitious projects will shorten travelling time between Scandinavian countries and the rest of Europe, without disturbing the maritime traffic that crowds the straits between the North and Baltic Seas From high-speed train lines to the Rhine-Rhone canal, Europe is a hub of large-scale works projects to facilitate trade between member states by preparing major transportation links for the 21 st century. The planned road and rail connections between Denmark, Sweden and Germany are certainly one of the most ambitious projects of this century's end, both in terms of staff employed and the material resources that are being and will be used even beyond the year 2000.
