Abstract

A philosophy of design for hydraulic structures associated with small catchments is discussed. The requirement is a means of estimating-the magnitude and distribution, in time and space, of storm rainfall of given recurrence interval on catchments up to about 300 square miles in area, anywhere in South Africa.
