An incremental deformation technique is presented for overcoming the problems inherent in the non-linear behaviour of perspex models. The results of model tests are used to show that if a model is loaded incrementally until the curve of incremental deformations becomes asymptotic, then its behaviour at that stage will for all practical purposes be perfectly elastic. The effect of temperature on the elastic behaviour of models is also considered.

Die resultate van modeltoetse word gebruik om te toon dat indien die model inkrementaal belas word totdat die kurwe van inkrementale vervormings asimptoties word, die gedrag by daardie stadium, vir alle praktiese doeleindes, perfek elasties is. Die effek van temperatuur op die elastiese gedrag van die modelle is ook in ag geneem.
