In focussing on arms procurement this article will deal with the strengths and weaknesses of national decision-making behaviour around arms acquisition and procurement over the past seven decades. The ways in which these processes may have impacted on optimal or sub-optimal analysis in decision-making structures within procurement processes over the past decades are addressed.
