""Postmodernism"" is a concept which often evokes vehement reaction and emotion in academics, even upon simply hearing the term mentioned. This reaction usually borders on the extreme: on the one hand there are the inveterate disciples; on the other hand, there is the view that postmodernism is mere hocus pocus, a bourgeois, escapist game. For the purpose of this article, therefore, the concept of ""postmodernism"" contains the application possibilities it may display within contemporary Criminology.
