In its editorial preface, Acta Criminologica 1993, 6(3):5 invokes a certain degree of self-examination and assumes, therefore, a subject orientated introspection. From the majority of contributions to this edition it appears that Criminology makes the pleonastic presumption and leap to consider itself a science in its own right.
