Unfortunately very few of the 51 African countries have to date participated in the international crime (victim) surveys organised by UNICRI (The United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute) in developing countries since 1991. This is mainly due to a lack of finances, available expertise and infrastructure.
