Abstract

Globally criminologists have paid little attention to crimes against the environment and, in the main, Criminology as a science mostly focused on crimes committed by humans against one another or crimes against property. This is confirmed by the fact that a 2001 survey of 25 international universities in developed countries found that only one university included crimes against the environment in its courses (Naudé 2001:9).
