With its renewed focus on science and research, it became apparent that the CSIR needed a stronger identity - an identity that reveals our vision in one clear simple stroke. On 27 February 2006, the organisation's new corporate identity was introduced at the CSIR Research and Innovation Conference when it was used for the first time in public. With a positioning statement that reads, ""our future through science"", we hope to develop a distinctive brand to support our recent reconfiguration, which will harness the energy of our people to serve the needs of our country.
