oa CSIR Science Scope - Tracing the Earth's carbon metabolism



The radioactive isotope of carbon (14C) has been the mainstay of the radiocarbon dating technique that is ubiquitous to archaeological research around the world. The Quaternary Dating Research Unit (QUADRU) laboratory of CSIR Natural Resources and the Environment has been producing radiocarbon dates in support of research on almost every continent and in every ocean in the world for the last 47 years.
