With the right fertilisers, crops like peanuts, Bambora nuts, rosemary, tea tree, mango and certain Eucalyptus clones can be successfully grown on the characteristic sloping dunes near Richards Bay after mining of the land. The CSIR, contracted by Richards Bay Minerals (RBM), recently completed assessing the feasibility of using previously mined land for agricultural purposes.
