In South Africa today, many changes are taking place at an accelerated pace, particularly in the field of education. The merging of tertiary institutions, the restructuring of faculties and departments, the revision of syllabi and the evaluation of programmes for quality assurance are but a few examples of the attempts made by the Department of National Education to improve upon existing structures and products.
