In the Transvaal Province it is the accepted right of the seller of immovable property to nominate his conveyancer to effect registration of transfer of the property to the purchaser. This practice has been adopted and honoured by conveyancers for a considerable time and has become a matter of general practice. In the case of James vs. Liquidators Amsterdam Township Company, Transvaal Law Reports 1903, p. 653, it was held that it is the duty of the seller to pass transfer and he has the right to appoint his own conveyancer as his agent to do so.
