oa De Rebus - Company registration

Abstract

The greater majority of bodies with legal personality being brought into existence in South Africa today are companies registered in terms of The Companies Act, 46 of 1926, as amended (""the Act""). Of the various forms of companies which exist within the framework of the Act, the company limited by shares is the most prevalent. This short guide to the practice and procedure of company registration under the Act will consequently be limited to a discussion of requirements for registration of companies limited by shares. (Sec. 6A and sec. 21 companies which are, or in the latter case may be, companies limited by shares, are not dealt with here).
