Possession of Blue Films I was wrong when I said that a locally produced ""blue"" film can be shown or possessed, provided it is not shown. In circumstances prohibited under section 9(1). I overlooked the Indecent or Obscene Photographic Matter Act, .37 of 1967, which prohibits the possession of indecent or obscene photographic matter which includes cinematograph films, unless exempted under the Publications Act or Customs Act. The penalties are also quite severe, either a fine not exceeding R1 000-00 or imprisonment not exceeding one year, or both.
