There are increasing indications that lawyers' fees will be under attack in this decade as never before. The lawyer, as a supplier of services in a period of inflation has been caught up in the consumer protection battle. All major areas of practice are under surveillance. For years there have been federal and state regulations either limiting the amount of fee to be charged or requiring agency approval prior to payment. Generally these have involved relatively specialized areas of law, such as workmen's compensation, Veterans Administration matters, or federal loans.
