oa De Rebus - The "lost years": the claim for loss of earnings

Abstract

It may happen that as a result of a wrongful act of some person another person's life expectancy is shortened. This may have the effect of shortening the period during which he could earn an income. If a person's life expectancy during which he can earn is shortened as a result of a delict, he has no claim for the loss of earnings which he could otherwise have earned.
