Labour law has undergone a profound transformation since the 1979 amendments to the Industrial Conciliation Act 28 of 1956, the forerunner of what is now known as the Labour Relations Act. The amendments have established the industrial court, granted trade union rights to Blacks and introduced the concept of unfair labour practice into our law.
