In a recent article, I made a plea for the abolition of s 32 of the Police Act (""s 32"") or at the least for its drastic reform. The subject of limitation of actions against certain public bodies is at present being investigated by the South African Law Commission (the ""commission""), which has invited suggestions in writing for improvements in this connection. In this article, I shall restate some of the arguments put forward in my earlier article as a prelude to discussing the tentative proposals of the commission.
