It has significant implications for international trade with and investment in South Africa. Foreign interests considering investment or trade here often ask: what mechanisms are there for dispute resolution in dealings with South Africa? The present answer is not impressive. The Arbitration Act 42 of 1965 has no provisions expressly dealing with international arbitrations.
