The articles in this edition of Education as Change have as a unifying theme the making of a postmodernist curriculum. As is evident from them, this type of curriculum is a 'merged' curriculum (Jansen), a 'virtual' curriculum (Jakovljevic et al., and Foulds), an 'equitable' curriculum (Sperandio and Montjane), and a curriculum supported by various knowledge-making systems (Ferreira and Mattheus, and Mestry and Grobler). A postmodernist curriculum is a dispersed and a distributed one. It has as its antecedent the Cathrine Cornbleth (1990) adage, 'curriculum is contextualised social process'.
