Abstract

Acacia nilotica Willd. ex Del. ssp. indica (Benth.) Brenan (Mimosaceae), prickly acacia, was introduced into Australia in the 1890s as a shade and fodder tree. It has subsequently become invasive and currently occupies more than six million hectares of the Mitchell grass downs in Queensland, Australia.
