The genera Thorell and Simon, two ground-dwelling spider genera in the family Hersiliidae of the Afrotropical Region, are revised. now includes three species Thorell, 1870, (O.P.-Cambridge, 1872) and Blackwall, 1865, which are redescribed. Lawrence, 1928, and (Simon, 1893) both known from southern Africa are transferred to a new genus, . Three species, Smithers, 1945, Smithers, 1945, and , Tucker, 1920, are transferred to gen. n. Smithers, 1945, is synonymized with . The males of and are described for the first time. Three species, and , are described as new. A key to the six species of gen. n. is provided. is monotypic and only contains Lucas, 1846. Only females are known for and .
