n African Entomology - Taxonomic and biogeographical review of the Afrotropical tribe Morphozonitini (Coleoptera, Meloidae, Eleticinae) with the description of three new taxa and a key to the genera

The presence of the tribe Morphozonitini (Meloidae, Eleticinae) in southwestern Africa is documented and three new taxa are described. gen. n. and sp. n. from the Angolan Namib shows an extraordinary morphological convergence to some species of the genus (Eleticinae, Derideini) endemic to the xeric regions of Namibia. sp. n. from southwestern Angola represents an isolated element of the genus, which is distributed mainly in eastern and central Africa. Péringuey is transferred to the genus (comb. n.); (Borchmann) is demoted to become a subspecies of (stat. dem.); the subspecies Kaszab is made a junior synonym of the nominotypical subspecies (syn. n.); and new combinations for two more subspecies are proposed. Information on the colour variability of Kaszab from Kenya is given. Finally, a new key to the genera of the tribe Morphozonitini is provided.
