oa African Entomology - Coniopterygidae (Neuroptera) from southern and eastern Africa



Records of 32 species of Coniopterygidae from southern and eastern Africa are listed. Thirteen new species are descriptionbed: Aleuropteryx hoelzeli, A. transvaalensis, A. dorsalis, A. multispinosa, A. ohmi, A. pseudocapensis, Cryptoscenea tanzaniae, Heteroconis tanzaniae, Nimboa bifurcata, N. manselli, Coniopteryx (Xeroconiopteryx) botswana, C (X.) sestertia and C (Coniopteryx) sclerotica. Variation in the male genitalia is descriptionbed in N. bifurcata, N. capensis Tjeder and C (C) madagascariensis (Meinander). The taxonomy of the subgenus Xerocolliopteryx in sub-Saharan Africa, and the genus Semidalis in southern and eastern Africa, is revised. New synonyms are: Nimboa capensis Tjeder (= N. natalensis Tjeder and N. transvaalellsis Meinander) and Semidalis meridionalis Kimmins (= S. bifida Kimmins).
