oa African Entomology - The status of two species of Psyttalia Walker (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Opiinae) reared from fruit-infesting Tephritidae (Diptera) on the Indian Ocean Islands of Reunion and Mauritius

Abstract

Lectotypes are designated for Psyttalia distinguenda (Granger) and the sympatric P. insignipennis (Granger), and diagnostic features are provided for these two species to facilitate recognition during sampling programmes for tephritid parasitoids. Rearing records are provided for specimens collected on Reunion from fruits primarily infested with Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann) (Diptera: Tephritidae).
