Abstract

Though a natural historian, Darwin developed some very clear ideas about God and religion resulting in a modern debate about value of religion. This article attempts to trace this development, explain the reasons for his ideas, compare it with traditional Christian religion, and explore the effect they may have on a post-modern, post-theist, Christian theology.
