Abstract

The Book of Revelation often makes use of a developed animal imagery to depict the enemies of God. The two appalling beasts of chapter 13 are the most prominent figures. In this article the focus falls on minor characters, like the comparison to frogs who act as "unclean spirits of demons" (Rev. 16: 13-14). The gripping question to be asked is why frogs and not the more terrifying and fearsome animals like serpents.
