Vol 3 No 3 12 T he World Summit on Children took place in September 1990, shortly after the adoption of the United Nations (UN) Conven- tion on the Rights of the Child (CRC) in 1989. It produced the World Declaration on the Survival, Protection and Devel- opment of Children, and the Plan of Action for implementing the summit declaration.
