Abstract

While the struggling Chinese economy may result in an overall weaker demand for hard commodities, analysts predict that China's imports of coarse grains will increase 61% to 20,25 million tons in 2015/2016. It is also expected that China will import three million tons of maize during this period. Rice imports are expected to increase 16,8% to 4,7 million tons, and soya beans 9,9% to 77,5 million tons during the same period.
