Abstract


This article focuses on the question of the poetological methods postcolonial African literature uses in order to draw attention to the subject of otherness, specially referring to by Wole Soyinka, a Nigerian writer and winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature. In this autobiography Soyinka succeeds not only in communicating traditional African processes of education to the reader, Soyinka also involves the reader because he uses the concept of hybridity of Western and African culture. In addition, the author applies linguistic dialogism as well as a poetics of integration.
