This study investigated the relationship between problemsolving ability and career maturity of secondary school students in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. 230 final year secondary school students completed self-report measures of problem solving and career maturity. Multiple regression analysis was used to analyse the data collected. The results showed that the three variables of problem solving ability when combined effectively predicted career maturity among the students. Personal control made the highest contribution to the prediction. It was followed by Approach-avoidance and Confidence in that order. Implications for the inclusion of problem-solving activities in the counsellors' programmes for fostering career maturity of students were discussed.
